nēdl was conceived to put live radio broadcasting capabilities into the hands of every smartphone and web user. The platform transforms creators into instant broadcasters, allowing listeners to discover, tune in, and interact in real time. With a suite of mobile and web applications, nēdl created an open stage for anyone to stream audio, participate in live shows, or build communities around unique topics. Built for high scalability and reliability, ndl empowers engagement through seamless authentication, rapid UI, and efficient backend systems. The app reimagines podcasting - elevating it to dynamic, real-time radio for the digital age.

Challenges

Taking over undocumented, half-finished repositories required deep technical refactoring and end-to-end feature validation. Integrating live audio streaming with real-time content discovery involved orchestrating multiple backend and API services for high concurrency and low latency. Achieving rock-solid stability across a broad range of mobile devices, while keeping the UI snappy and responsive for global users, called for persistent optimization of both front-end and backend layers. Balancing performance, creator empowerment, and listener experience presented architectural and product design hurdles that required continuous feedback and iteration.

Process

Development started with reviewing and auditing inherited codebases to stabilize all core features. Engineers focused on improving mobile and web UI responsiveness, backend streaming reliability, and content discovery pipelines. Customer authentication, live stream connections, and listener interaction modules were rebuilt for robustness and scalability. API integrations were optimized, and performance was validated under heavy load scenarios. Iterative QA and UI/UX sprints targeted usability for both creators and listeners, with ongoing tuning for international markets and unique content needs. Resulting releases saw improved streaming quality, uptime, and rapid onboarding for both broadcasters and users.
